A Paula Abdul casting site has now been launched, and with AuditionBooth.com, she is hoping to connect those in Hollywood with those looking for their big break in Hollywood without ever leaving their homes! No trip to Hollywood or New York City is needed here. In order to be considered, users can subject audition tapes to the site that they create with their own web cams at home. If they have a computer and can log onto the Internet, then they are half way there already!
Paula Abdul is no stranger to looking for talent either. She spent nearly a decade helping to find talent in the music industry on "American Idol" on Fox, and now she will be doing the same on CBS to find dancing talent. She had this to say about her new casting site venture, according to Fox Business: "I've spent so much time throughout my career nurturing great talent, some of whom have realized their dreams and some of whom haven't been as lucky. The fact is though that in some cases the only difference has been opportunity -- that is what AuditionBooth is about -- the opportunity."
This is a genius idea from Paula Abdul. Not everyone can run off to Hollywood. If they dream of making it as an actor or actress, then they needed to do just that though. Not now. Technology is once again changing things and making it easier for people. Why not use your web cam to audition? It is there. You know how to use it. The site makes it easier to connect those looking for the next big star with those that can't travel to them. The site is free, but there is also a premium component as well that is optional.
Now the big question here is - will this work? This site wants to be the "Hulu of casting." Will people send their tapes in at AuditionBooth.com for their chance to be discovered though? It is possible. Anything is, but the advances in technology are making it possible. This wouldn't have been possible a few years ago. Technology and the Internet world keep growing and changing every single day. It can be used to connect people via email, web cam, Twitter and Facebook. Other websites are connecting users to the world as well.
Why not have a casting site doing the same for Hollywood? You never know. The next big star could be found via the Internet instead of behind the counter of a bar or while walking down the street. Paula Abdul's casting site is trying to make that possible. Go here for the latest news.
