iPhone 5 Release Rumors - Expected Features for...

More rumors are surfacing about the much-anticipated iPhone 5 release, and this time, some expected features for the device are what a lot of Apple customers are chatting about. While some of the expected features are new, some have not changed at all.

For example, the iPhone 5 is expected to have 512 RAM. This is the same as the iPhone 4 and the iPad 2, so there is no change there. This may disgruntle some of the techies out there, but for the most part, the majority will probably not even notice the lack of an update in this area.

It looks like iPhone 5 will have additional multi-touch gestures. WithÂ iOS 4.3 GM came new multi-touch gestures, including the four or five touch, and can do an array of iPhone functions. It looks like a five-finger pinch on any app will take users to the Home screen, or to switch between apps; a four-finger swipe (right or left) will perform this action. Apparently, these gestures, which were unreleased in iOS 4.3 GM, are being tested for the iPhone 5 release with iOS 5.0

Additionally, it appears the iPhone 5 may not have a Home button. Apparently, Apple wants to advance the device so that the multi-touch gestures will perform the actions that users have thus far used the Home button for. This one seems a little tricky. Of course, consumers want to see something new with the latest and greatest device releases, but many might be scared off by the lack of a Home button on their device. Often times, some users have a hard time grasping the multi-touch concept, so everyone will have to wait and see how this one works out.

The iPhone 5 release apparently will share the same 1GHz dual-core CPU as the iPad 2 has. The A5 chip made byÂ Samsung features a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 dual-core processor. Apparently,Â A5 has got two-times faster CPU and nine-times faster GPU. Sweet!

It looks like there may not be much of a design change for the iPhone 5 release either. Of course there are the rumors of a white iPhone coming out, so maybe that will appease users who were anticipating an even sleeker iPhone than what they currently own.

So, all in all, it appears the largest change with the iPhone 5 release may be the A5 chip and the lack of a home button. Let's not forget the new color too! What do you think? I have an iPhone 3SP and I love it. I would choose it over the iPhone 4

It's TIME Apple gets back to the basics and make the phone side of the iphone more functional.. Doesn't anyone care to see a contact's name AND company name when they call ? OR do you all only have 20 friends ? HOLLY crap, how about a calendar in the top bar area ? Plenty of times I would like to know the date without going back to the home page.. Speaking of company info, how about adding that to the phone book list without clicking to the person's info to see it ??? COME ON Apple, pick up the ball on the phone functionality and stop just being about selling new products.. OH and don't get me started about the new ipad, any reason you couldn't make a smaller version ??? It's time Steve Job's starts listening more to the users then thinking about his bottom line, he screwed up when he had the chance to do what Windows did and hopefully he doesn't keep screwing up.. Don't get me wrong, I've been macing for over 15 yrs (Once you go Mac you Won't do back) It's just time Apple makes their products more function before worrying about more revenue.
