Turbo Tax, an easy to use tax preparation software, is celebrating the federal tax deadline extension by rewarding procrastination. Finally, laziness has paid off for all of those who wait until the last minute to file taxes. The normal date for filing federal taxes is April 15th, but an extension until the 18th has recently been put into place. Turbo Tax has chosen this opportunity to offer its users free software.
Tax procrastinators have the District of Columbia and Abraham Lincoln to thank for the extra time. The celebration of Emancipation Day has caused the IRS to be closed on the regular deadline date. This caused the deadline to be extended by three days. Lincoln freed thousands of slaves, and we are now free to put off our taxes for a few more days.
Due to this change in events, Turbo Tax has decided to provide its users the chance to win Turbo Tax Premier Online software. The company also offers live chat on the morning of the 15th, from 10:00am to 11:00am PST. Users can use this occasion to ask last-minute tax preparation questions. Check out Turbo TaxÂ’s Twitter and Facebook pages for chances to win their software on April 15th.
