Consumers should get ready for the Apple iPhone 5 because it appears that production is about to get underway. Conflicting reports about the production of the much anticipated smartphone have arisen recently. A Reuters report points to iPhone 5 production beginning in July with a release date for the device sometime in September of this year.
Of course, the current iPhone 4 is still a great selling and popular device. Both AT&T and Verizon Wireless carry the device, so it is likely that they will carry the next device too. The iPhone 4 is already a powerful device that only became more versatile when it was introduced on Verizon's network. Either way, each generation of the iPhone has improved over its previous iteration, so there are guaranteed to be some surprises in the iPhone 5.
However, various reports have surfaced that say the iPhone 5 won't necessarily look too different from the 4th generation device. The current device already looks sleek and refined, so it doesn't really need the changes. Still, some reports mention that the Apple iPhone 5 might have a few changes in materials, but that doesn't translate to a change in appearance.
As for hardware, the iPhone 5 is expected to get a processor upgrade to Apple's A5 processor, making the device faster and more powerful. Many are assuming that the rear-facing camera will get a megapixel upgrade in some form or another. With that in mind, expect the device to improve upon an already ample smartphone.
The Apple iPhone 5 will be a record breaking hit no matter when it is released. Undoubtedly, Apple will release more information about additional new features to the smartphone as the currently unknown release date approaches. People have long been thinking about the iPhone 5, just like they are thinking about the Apple iPad 3, even though the iPad 2 released just a couple months ago. In the end, Apple has two winning devices.
