Google is expected to take over the market for apps in the near future with their alarming amount of applications available to Android and Chrome users. Google Apps has two different kinds of application stores, one is meant for Google Chrome browser users and the other is meant for Android users.
The Google Chrome Apps system
The Google Chrome Apps system has three different versions to appeal to different people's needs. The regular Google Apps program is for individuals and groups. The system allows people and groups to create up to 50 free accounts, and offers a variety of apps. This is pretty handy as most people would never need 50 accounts at once.
Business app section
The business app area allows businesses access to extra business applications that are not available to regular account holders. The business app area is available for a fee of $50 per business account. Despite the $50 fee for this account type, the user has access to many apps that help with productivity, time management, and organization, to name a few.
Education app section
Educational leaders such as schools can get the same services as the business app section, however, there is no charge for this account type. This is very handy, giving schools the ability to use talking books and other downloadable applications that will enhance the learning process, and create a more engaging experience for children.
Android app store
The Android app store, called Android Marketplace, currently offers approximately 200,000 applications for Android cellular devices. According to cnet, new market research findings from a company called Distimo, the Android app store is set to surpass Apple's App Store in as short as a few months. This is very surprising as there have been many different application stores created for different mobile devices over the last few years, but none of these app stores have even come close to passing Apple's superior system.
The types of applications available through Google
Google Apps offer a variety of applications ranging from productivity enhancers, phone utilities, entertaining games, talking books, online television, guitar chord charts, business calendars, and a lot more. Google adds to their application list on a regular basis, so users can always expect to have fresh and new applications.
Google has millions of users worldwide making it one of the world's hottest search engines. With Android phones, Google has tapped into a large market yet again, and they can only grow with all the unique and innovative products they offer; consequently, the Google Apps store is no different. Apple claims their application store is much better as they have more applications, however, that will only remain true until Google surpasses the number of applications Apple has.
