An article at CNET predicts the iPhone 5 release date for September 7th when they compare all the various rumors about the Apple Smartphone release. It is believed since Steve Jobs announced iOS 5, which he said will arrive in the Fall, that the iPhone 5 will arrive around the same time.

iOS 5 will run on the iPod Touch, so perhaps Apple wants to wait and see how that works out for them before they introduce the iPhone 5. If Apple is working on an iPhone 5 release date, they probably do not plan to announce anything until all the kinks have been worked out. After all, no one wants another sketchy iPhone release.
