Could the iPhone 5 release date really be less than a month away? The latest speculation is that Apple may introduce the iPhone 5 on October 6th or 7th. That's only about three weeks away! Interested? Then read on.
BGR.com has released some juicy details that will hopefully come true. According to one of their articles, "iOS 5 beta 8 won't be released until this Friday. After beta 8, Apple will introduce a Gold Master build on or around September 23rd as has been rumored. We believe that build is what will be loaded onto the already-assembled iPhone 5 hardware currently waiting for final software in China." It's beginning to sound like the date is so close that you can almost get ready to swipe your credit card. And boy oh boy are customers ready to swipe that card. RBC Capital Markets performed a survey about the iPhone 5 concluding that a "whopping 66% of existing iPhone owners plan to upgrade to the new iPhone 5."
BGR.com also revealed that this information has come from a "trusted source," but who that source is means remains a mystery. Maybe it's a super connected tech blogger or analyst who can predict Apple's release cycles. But the suspense is just increasing the anticipation of the supposed perfect iPhone.
In order for all of this to work out Apple will also have to request carrier partners like AT&T & Verizon to give the final sign off on technical support by October 5th. You would think that Verizon and AT&T would be anxious to move this process along. The sooner the iPhone 5 gets into their stores the sooner their sales will increase.
