The Facebook Marketing Solutions program is also partnering up with the National Federation of Independent Business as well as the United States Chamber of Commerce to help small businesses.
According to Mashable, come 2012, Facebook will start handing out $50 worth of advertising to small businesses using the social network to help these businesses attract new customers and set up a bigger presence.
It is nearly a fact that a Facebook profile can help boost business, doubly so for small businesses who wish to reach a wider audience. Businesses can connect on a more personal level with potential customers and use their profile to use special discounts or other incentives to attract new business.
Mashable also noted that Facebook is also optimized mostly for small businesses, and not larger companies even though users can find big-name brands such as GAP or Delta with a profile.
Small businesses are also becoming a target for tech companies because a recent study has shown that most do not believe social media marketing and online advertising are necessary. In fact, 64 percent of small businesses in the United States don't take online marketing and advertising seriously.
