BlackBerry creator Research in Motion just made 70 million BlackBerry customers very happy. In efforts to smooth over the recent worldwide Blackberry service disruptions, RIM is offering users free BlackBerry apps valued at over $100.
Starting October 19, BlackBerry users across the globe will notice over a dozen free apps available for download at BlackBerry App World. The free games and applications will be available until December 31, 2011.
Now BlackBerry users can get their fill of free Bejeweled, SIMS 3 and iSpeech Translator Pro, just to name a few. This smart marketing move will soon have BlackBerry apps users comparing high scores instead of moaning about the prolonged service interruptions experienced within the BlackBerry network this fall.
Free Tech Support, Too!
In addition to the free BlackBerry apps, RIM will offer users one month free access to BlackBerry Technical Support Services Enhanced Support. Customers who already subscribe to the service will receive a one month free credit on their billing statements.
Kudos to RIM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis and his team for this Monday morning announcement. The company's generosity will go far to create loyalty to the BlackBerry brand -- and further BlackBerry app addictions worldwide.
