The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus was officially announced at a tech event in Hong Kong. The device will be the first ever to run on the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (sounds delicious).
The new Galaxy Nexus has some amazing new features, which will make the new phone so much fun to own. While not as thin as the new Droid Razr, the phone is still only 8.94mm thick.
Two of the great features are a new face unlock, which will allow you to simply smile at the phone for it to unlock. That is so much better than struggling to slide a little button over. You will also have a screenshot ability, which will be a great new advance for smartphones.
A negative to the Galaxy Nexus is that it only has a 5 mp camera, which is not up to par with other mobile devices. However, it has minimal shutter lag time, which will be good. Also, the forward facing camera will allow for video chatting.
Ultimately, the phone has a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM, and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. In all, the phone should be highly desired when it is released in the U.S. sometime in November just in time for holiday shopping.
