Despite being dead and all Steve Jobs seems to be ticking off a lot of people. Well, it looks like he has managed to anger gamers by being named the most influential man in gaming history. Calling BS on this one.
Apparently a bunch of suits participated in a survey where they listed off people who had the biggest influence on the video game industry. Out of the top five names, only two of them (Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto and Valve's Gabe Newell) actually work in the video game industry. The rest of the top five include Steve Jobs, World Wide
Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. This is by far the most BS list out of all lists of anything out there. It lacks names of people who actually make the games real gamers play. Real gamers don't buy iPhones to play Texas Hold'em. Real Gamers don't log on to Facebook to milk their cows on Farmville. Gamers don't go on the web to play a stupid Nyan Cat game.
To add insult to injury, the Apple iPhone is number one on the list of most influential gaming products. Angry Birds is a great game and all but seriously?! The iPhone at number one?! Why doesn't this list have the Nintendo Entertainment System on there? It was the system that, you know, saved the video game industry from frigging death!
Steve Jobs had done a lot when it came to computers and bringing them into millions of homes. But that survey over rates his influence on the gaming world. The people who actually dedicated their lives to making good games should be honored properly.
"But Steve worked at Atari..." Just please, shut up.

Gaming is moving into different directions, and I am sorry you can not accept that. "Real Gamers" need to grow up and accept there are other kind of people out there who play games. Just because someone may or may not be as much of a hardcore gamer as someone else does not mean they are not a gamer.
There are great games on the iPhone, just because you don't have buttons doesn't mean they can not be fun. Madden, Call of Duty Zombies, Fifa Soccer, Devil May Cry 4.
Really what did you expect to be number 1 on that list? Sony's PSP? A failed handheld? Or wait maybe the Nintendo 3DS a system that launched too soon for it's own good with no games and a drastic price drop within what? 4 months? Not to mention Nintendo's already out ¥591 billion Yen.
