The view out the window from the International Space Station (ISS) is always fantastic, but even astronauts probably get a little jaded. However, a time lapse view created by a graphic artist and set to some spooky space music sheds a whole new light on the beauty of the planet from space. Take a look at the video below for a view that even the most experienced spaceman never sees.
In fact, this time lapse video is so awesome it doesn't even look real. It has an IMAX movie feel to it which a Hollywood studio would be envious of.
As the ISS orbits the world, it slowly reveals a magnificent panorama, including the Aurora Borealis and the North American electrical grid which just gets lost in a real-time view.
There really are no words for the awesomeness brought to life by video artist Michael König, who enhanced some of the best sequences filmed by the ISS crew. Tweaking the images with filters, speeding up the motion and setting it to some ethereal music transforms the merely spectacular to something almost holy.
Enough said. Have a look and prepare to be wowed.
NASA never looked so good...
