If there is one word that can describe Bethesda's new game, Skyrim, it's "big." Not only does the game feature an expansive world that just seems to go on forever, but that world isn't just full of empty space. Tucked away in the game's corners are a number of hidden goodies, like the Skyrim books. These books tell the tales of the world and help the player immerse themselves in the game.
Of course, these Skyrim books aren't for everyone, but players who love this kind of thing may want to ensure that they read every book in the game without having to luck upon them out in the world. These same players might want to enjoy reading about Skyrim's world even when they aren't playing. Enter Capaneus.
In a post on Capaneus' blog, you can read about how he searched through the game files to find out what format the Skyrim books were in, in hopes of converting them to something he could put on a portable device. To his surprise, the books were all stored in plain text, making it a simple process of converting the files to something he could download and read at his leisure. In a fit of helpfulness to anyone who can't get enough of the game, he also made the files available for everyone else, complete with table of contents and headings, according to this Digital Trends articles. You can download the books in either the Kindle format, or the Nook/iOS/eReader format, from Capaneus' bog.
While Capaneus points out that you should own the game in order to download an enjoy these Skyrim books, it's tough to think of a reason why someone who doesn't play the game at all would enjoy slices of life from the world, but you never know. Hopefully, the success of these portable Skyrim books will convince Bethesda to release its own official version of in-game books, at least for the next version of the game, if not for Skyrim.

And you're right - the game seems to have unlimited potential. I hear that you can get up to level 70-something although perks stop at some earlier point. But even after one makes it through every level, replay can be a completely different game.
Although MW3 got most of the game hype early this month (and some would argue with good reason), Skyrim is simply a masterpiece unlike any other in the gaming world.
