The Galaxy Nexus by Samsung has piqued the interest of many Android fans in the United States, but they are still waiting for the launch date. Meanwhile, it looks like consumers in Australia may have lucked out.
A recent article states the Samsung Galaxy Nexus release would happen today in Australia, but there is still no verified confirmation on the Galaxy Nexus launch on the Verizon Wireless network in the USA. The Android Smartphone will be the first handset to run on Android 4.0 -- Ice Cream Sandwich.
Okay, so Ice Cream Sandwich is already available -- for those who root, but the rest of the population who might be a little "technologically challenged" will be getting the new version of the Android platform for the first time.
At any rate, the most recent rumor slated the Samsung Galaxy Nexus release date for US consumers for tomorrow, December 15th, but considering there has been no confirmation from Verizon Wireless, it seems unlikely the Galaxy Nexus will be making an appearance just yet.
Were you expecting the Samsung Galaxy Nexus release date would be this week? Are you hoping to buy the new Smartphone as a Christmas gift? Hey, there is still time, so don't be to upset... yet!
