New iPhone 5 release date rumors have surfaced, despite Apple keeping a tight lid on their 6th generation smartphone launch. Though earlier rumors suggested the company would be using display technology from a company in Taiwan, rumors have now shifted to a company in Japan working on display panels for the new Apple gadget's touchscreen.
In a recent statement David Hsieh, vice president of Display Search said, "Apple Inc. is likely to use display technology provided by Japanese panel makers rather than Taiwan-based suppliers for its next-generation iPhone, in order to achieve a thinner profile for the device."
Does this mean the next generation handset is closer to a début? It sounds like the new direction taken in regards to touch panel technology will produce a thinner, lighter, and sleeker design for Apple fans to giggle over when the iPhone 5 release date finally arrives—currently still rumored for October.
What do you think? Will the iPhone 5 release date bring a thinner design to the market? How will the 6th generation Apple smartphone compare to other thinner devices which are already on the market?
