New iPhone 5 release date rumors say the 4-Inch Display is not happening with the iOS 6 Apple smartphone launch. This information comes from Apple CEO, Tim Cook, who actually squashed the larger screen rumors outright!
A recent article reports Cook made statements about the new iPhone screen at the D:10 conference. He stated:
"One thing is that we're not fragmented. Look at the percentage of users who upgraded to iOS 5. We have one App Store. We have one phone with one screen size, one resolution. So it's pretty simple if you're a developer."
So it looks like the Apple community may be disappointed once the new iPhone 5 release date finally arrives, since the handset may not have the redesign they'd hoped for.
It is a bit interesting that Cook would make such a statement about the display of the new iPhone, since he also stated Apple would "double down on secrecy".
Were you hoping for a larger display on the 6th generation Apple smartphone? If so, will you still buy the handset once the iPhone 5 release date arrives?

What I'd like is an iPhone that didn't break so easily and has longer battery life :-)
