Nintendo is always a relative dark horse in the gaming world. Sometimes they wow the gaming world with innovative releases, and other times they seem to fall back to the more powerful companies like Microsoft and Sony. With E3 underway and everyone in a buzz about tonight's Sony Press Conference, Nintendo plan to announce that a new version of their best-selling 3DS is coming.
The new edition of the 3DS will feature a 4.3 inch touch screen, which is 1.5 times larger than the current screen on the 3DS. No other details are currently announced, but expect Nintendo to discuss the new version of the 3DS and a possible release during tomorrow's E3 conference.
This will only make Sony's plans for the PlayStation Vita to overtake the hot selling Nintendo 3DS in the Japanese market all the much harder. Nintendo have been dominating the portable gaming market for the last year or so, and oddly enough, Nintendo have remained in a strong position and continue to outsell the PlayStation Vita in both the US and Japanese markets. Nintendo have thought ahead and beaten Sony to the punch at E3. Sony now must lower the price of their underperforming Vita.
