The GTA 5 release date rumors continue, due to the fact that there was no earth shattering news about the new video game at the recent E3 Conference. Will the "Grand Theft Auto V" title release in 2012 though? It's not likely, says one analyst.
"Grand Theft Auto" is the popular video game series that allows players to run around an expansive virtual city or town, stealing cars, dodging cops, completing missions, and trying to rule the world. It's been immensely popular each time a new version arrives to the market. Many gamers were hoping for the fifth installment in the series to get a release date at the 2012 E3 Conference, but that was not to be.
A report from Gameranx.com includes comments from Wedbush Morgan analyst, Michael Pachter. Regarding when to expect the new game, he said:
"There was no announcement of Grand Theft Auto V at the show, making a pre-holiday release less likely."
"Company management confirmed that it would most likely notify retailers of a GTA release 3 – 4 months prior to launch, suggesting that a GTA release date announcement is virtually certain to occur by November."
So unfortunately for those video game fans who wanted to add "GTA 5" to their Christmas lists, that appears like it won't be a possibility. However, it could be announced that this game will be released in early 2013, meaning some gift cards or pre-order sales slips as holiday gifts. Until Rockstar Games makes an official announcement though, don't buy into any rumors.
