Sony revealed a month ago that YouTube was coming to their floundering new portable gaming device, the PlayStation Vita. Slated for a release at the end of June, yesterday saw the launch of the application on the PlayStation Vita, and the response has been, as expected, slightly positive.
The Vita version of will allow users to do all the basics. Video searching, commenting, favoriting, and much more are available on Vita's Application. Videos will be available in full 720p and 1080i HD versions, and Sony promised a fully seamless version of the world's largest video sharing website on their portable gaming system which has been floundering since launch. As of yet, there has been no confirmation regarding the ability to upload videos to YouTube captured by the Vita's built-in cameras using the application.
Like so many other applications that Sony has ported over to their PlayStation Vita, this new application will go unnoticed in the long-term. The answer to pulling the Vita out of the fire is games, games that are going to be appealing to owners of the system. Assassins Creed and Call Of Duty cannot come to the system soon enough.
