Pinterest is growing and moving into a bigger office; Google+ is still attempting to get everyone in their circle; Facebook seems to change settings everyday; and just when you think you have it all figured out, a new social network pops up. This time it is LittleMonsters.com, a social network site for everything Lady Gaga. The Queen of Twitter and Facebook launched her new platform this week, and it has the best of the most popular social networks all in one place. You can even login using your Facebook or Twitter account.
Will this new social network be the next big social media site, or will it only attract Lady Gaga fans (which are only a few million people)? Even if only Lady Gaga fans flock to the site, it will cause a disturbance in the social media force. For a few weeks it is likely that people will be actively exploring the site and all its features. It is also slated to offer a mobile app in the near future as well. However, Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook shouldn't get too worried. Since the LittleMonsters.com is linked to every other social media site that is out there, chances are that Gaga's new site will only help the other social media sites, not hurt them. The other social media giants should also consider returning the favor.
The top five social network sites have learned how to play nice and offer social buttons on each others' sites. Lady Gaga's site will do the same, but so far there are no monster or "fan" buttons on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, or MySpace. Only time will tell if this new social network will knock someone out of the top five or be forgotten about in a few months.
What do you think? What is your favorite social media site? Are you going to create a Little Monsters account? Do you think it will be the next big thing?
