New iPhone rumors suggest the upcoming 6th generation Apple smartphone release may be delayed due to battery shortages. So far the technology company has not confirmed the iPhone 5, but many people believe the handset will launch by September or October, with some reports of a late August début.

Unfortunately if these new rumors are true, Apple fans may have to wait a bit longer for their shiny new smartphone. An article at Mobile & Apps says that only 30% of batteries being made for Apple are meeting the "high standards" required. If these rumors are true, it doesn't seem likely the new iPhone release date will happen in August.
In a "note to investors," analyst Brian White said, "If there is a battery challenge, we trust that Apple will be able to figure it out in time for a September launch."
Hopefully Apple has a backup plan for shortage issues, but since the company is so secretive with upcoming gadgets, everyone will have to wait until later this year to see what plans Apple has for their new iPhone launch.
