A mechanic in Vietnam has built his very own Batpod, the vehicle that the Caped Crusader uses to roam around Gotham City. Vu Tung Lam designed and created a working Batpod using an old Suzuki motorbike and various other pieces of scrap metal. Lam said that locals do a double take when they see him slung across his stylish Vietnamese Batpod. Here in the US, people are used to seeing all manners of oddities that people create, but apparently that is not the case in Vietnam.

The Dark Knight replica batpod isn't exact of course. It doesn't have machine guns, targeting scanners or any of the other technology that Bruce Wayne incorporated into his machine, but it comes pretty close. The Batpod has a 125cc engine and the tires are from a four-wheel drive vehicle. Lam created the frame using welded steel pipes, covered with plastic sheets to make the Batpod look like it does in the film. It doesn't look as if Lam created a Dark Night costume to go with the Vietnamese Batpod, probably because the cape would get stuck in the tires.
The bike can get up to around 55 miles per hour, but according to Vietnam law, the bike isn't exactly street legal. The nation doesn't allow modified vehicles such as this, but Lam apparently still rides the bike around near his home - when the cops aren't looking. Here's a video showcasing the Batpod.
