The latest GTA 5 release date rumors are now speculating that Grand Theft Auto V might not see the light of day for gamers until May 2013. Meanwhile, various GTA V rumors based on screenshots and the debut trailer are continuing to swirl on the internet. One website has put together their best attempt to collect all of the rumors in one spot.
According to Gaming Illustrated, the story for the newest edition of the game from Rockstar Games will likely feature a brand new character in the main role, who is similar to Tommy Vercetti from "Vice City." Some had thought that major characters might return for this new game, but it appears it will be an entirely new story with a new character at the center of it all.
Also of interest will be the rumored "in-game features." These could include a more vast multiplayer experience than before, with players able to form gangs online. That may not be what parents want to hear when buying their kids the popular game, but it seems like it will offer more stories and gameplay beyond just the game itself. The new game is also rumored to have more realistic gunfights, and the map for the game could be as much as 5 times that of the size of GTA 4.
Other interesting points include the idea that there may be well over 100 vehicles at gamers' disposals. These will include 60-plus cars, 36-plus boats, as well as bikes, helicopters, and planes. The new wanted level system will involve players getting tagged with 1 to 6 stars depending on how much trouble they've caused. The highest level, 6 stars, will have the military after players for at least 72 hours in the game, with no missions available. For some, the most fun comes from these aspects of the game, of trying to elude the authorities, and it sounds like it can get pretty serious.
Of course all of these are merely rumors right now. The speculation is that GTA 5's release date won't be happening this year, but it continues to give gamers, bloggers and online analysts plenty of room to dream. Once the actual game is released, they'll be able to dream even bigger, in what appears to be a more vast game setting and online community than ever before.
