During a special preview event today in New York, Nintendo finally revealed the release date and price for their upcoming console, the Nintendo Wii U. The Wii U will be available in North America on November 18th and on November 30th in the UK and other territories. The Wii U will be available in two different types, the basic and the deluxe. The Basic Package will be available for $299.99 and the Deluxe Package will retail for $349.99 in US dollars.
It seems like the Nintendo Wii U has been in development forever, and the gaming world was delighted to finally have some details on just when the Wii U is coming out, but the two different packages of the basic and deluxe Wii U's have come as a surprise, and much has been made about Nintendo's decision to launch too differently priced versions already.
You can read the full list of features for both versions here.
The Basic Package will be white in colour, whilst the more expensive Deluxe Package will feature a slick black colour.

Consoles that Nintendo have released have always been aimed at the more casual and younger of gaming audiences, and the Wii U will be no different. Many continue to speculate that Nintendo want to compete with the hardcore consoles released by Sony and Microsoft, but the Wii U simply won't be a console capable of doing it, and many members in the gaming world are already predicting that this console will not take off in the long run.
Will you be spending your hard earned dollars on the Nintendo Wii U when it comes out?
