Now that the Kindle Fire 2 release date has officially arrived, many websites are getting their first use of the new Amazon tablet. The Kindle Fire HD reviews have seen the device praised by some, and slammed by others. One recent review talks of a web text entry issue with the keyboard, and although the site has added some other features or additions the tablet can use, they generally appear to give it a vote of approval.
With the new Kindle Fire HD tablet, there appear to be some initial issues including a web keyboard text entry problem, but it appears it's easily resolved. Customers who have experienced this issue upon first use of their tablet are advised to simply power off the device. Upon powering the tablet back on, the Fire HD does an internal software update or upgrade which appears to resolve the issue, allowing typing text into login or other fields on webpages.
The review also notes that set up of the device is generally easy including email, Facebook integration, and more. However, they note that it could benefit from speech to text inputs like other Android devices have, as well as some sort of bluetooth keyboard accessory. Perhaps these items are in the works ahead of the Christmas holiday season.
The Buyers Review Source site indicates that graphics look stunning in terms of digital photos, videos and web browsing. There's no serious lag time in terms of loading apps, music or webpages that they've noticed, so far. Since customers are just getting their hands on the device, it's likely there will be more issues or glitches to come. However, Amazon has plenty of time to address any shortcomings via future OS updates.
When it comes down to it, it's going to be hard to argue against a $200 tablet as a holiday gift for many individuals this coming season. However, Apple has yet to play its latest hand in terms of a smaller iPad, aka the "iPad Mini," and Google can continue to roll out new software updates to its Nexus 7. All of that said, it's going to be an interesting battle in the tablet space this coming holiday season!
