According to the Cinema Blend website, the first gameplay trailer for the popular pro basketball game arrived online just a few days ago. The new trailer, seen below, features hip hop music bumping in the background as various star players are shown passing, dunking, driving, shooting, swatting and more.
Among the players shown in the trailer who have new NBA homes for 2012-13 are Dwight Howard on the LA Lakers, Jeremy Lin on the Houston Rockets, and Ray Allen on the Miami Heat. Other stars shown in the trailer include Dwyane Wade, Lebron James, Carlos Boozer, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitski and Kevin Garnett. In all the trailer, lasts over a minute, but mainly shows the simulated NBA player animations, rather than what will be actually seen when gamers play the new game.
However, along with the good news of this new trailer, also came bad news that the game would be delayed beyond its early October release date. Over at the EA Sports website blog, they noted regarding the delay:
"Many fans have been anticipating an early October launch, but our plan is to release at a later date. We will share more information in the future."
This will be an attempted revival of the 2K series, which hasn't had an official game in its series for several years now. So far the graphics in the trailer look good and they've got many players on their new teams. However, the more important factors will be how well the game plays on the court, and how those graphics look. Otherwise, it might pale in comparison to the NBA Live or any other pro basketball title that comes along.
