With the GTA 5 release date possibly being announced on Thursday evening, websites continue to discuss what the new game might include. Recently, one website discussed 10 features they believe that "Grand Theft Auto V" needs to have (or not have) to make this another winning installment in the popular series.
According to Gaming Illustrated, they believe the latest GTA game will draw inspiration for some of its newest features from other titles including "L.A. Noire," "Max Payne 3," and "Red Dead Redemption." With that in mind, they created a list of the 10 things the new game needs the most. These include animals, character customization, car modifications, better side missions, a revamped shooting system, mid-mission checkpoints, and more humor. Apparently GTA IV lacked comedic relief which other editions had.
All of the things Gaming Illustrated mentions make sense, because obviously Rockstar Games will want this game to be cutting edge and even better than the previous edition. It's been reported before that the new game will offer a vast multiplayer environment online. With that in mind, something like character customization makes a lot of sense, because otherwise it would be gangs full of the same exact character. As for animals, that might lead to protests from animal cruelty organizations, depending on how the animals are used or presented in gameplay.
Being able to modify the vehicles would be another fun feature. Things like that and the character customization, give the game a stronger connection to the individual playing it. Otherwise, it might just feel like the same old "Grand Theft Auto." Then again, Rockstar has done a good job of making each new edition innovative and fun to play, so even if they miss the boat on several items on the "most needed" list, it's expected this will be another hit game in their collection.
